“Winemaker Dennis Martin sourced this Cabernet fruit from Usibelli Vineyards, a small, family-owned operation located in the Rutherford region, the widest part of the Napa Valley floor. Their vineyard is notable for two distinct blocks of roughly equal size; one planted back in 1985, and a newer one planted in 1999. The wine is a result of vinifying these blocks separately, then blending them together depending on their characteristics.
Tasting Notes: The nose displays aromas of cherry fruit with gingerbread and liquorice spice followed by toasty oak. On the palate it is concentrated and rich with well integrated tannins, elegant oak and dominant flavours of black cherry, vanilla and clove spice."
